GiliSoft Privacy Protector 3.4

GiliSoft Privacy Protector is a very complete privacy suite for Windows. It allows you to hide any file or folder on your computer, prevent unauthorized use of your applications, prevent users from modifying files, and create folders that only you can access via the use of a password.

Privacy Protector, like the rest of GiliSoft's apps, asks you to set a master password when you first launch the application. You can also type in your e-mail address, which will be used if you ever forget your password.

From the main window, you can access all the different operations that can be carried out. The Hide Data, Lock Data, and Write-Protected categories are also present in GiliSoft File Lock. Those are very intuitive. You simply select a file and it will be protected against unauthorized opening or modifying.

There are some other features that make this a very complete suite. For example, the application allows you to create "private disks" that can only be accessed via this application. By default, the application comes with 5 folders for documents, pictures, music, videos, and games. The other features have to do with safe erasing of files, and the automatic erasing of Windows, Application, and Internet history.
